I am an Associate Professor at the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston. From July 2024-June 2025, I served as a policy advisor for the Office of Global Food Security at the U.S. Department of State. Previously, I have served as a Kluge Fellow at the Library of Congress, a Visiting Scholar in the Global Food Ethics and Policy Program at Johns Hopkins University, a Visiting Fellow at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University, an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology fellow working in the Office of Food for Peace at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and a postdoctoral fellow at the Watson Institute of International and Public Affairs at Brown University.
I received my PhD in Political Science from the
George Washington University, my MA from Cal State LA, and hail
from Fresno, CA, where I completed my BA at Fresno State
through the Smittcamp Family Honors College.
